How is a risk matrix score calculated?

A risk matrix scores a risk by multiplying its probability rating by its impact rating, each on a 1 to 5 scale. Score = probability x impact, giving a value from 1 to 25. Higher scores mean higher priority. The score maps to a severity band - Low, Medium, High, or Critical - that tells you how urgently to act.

What do the colors and bands mean?
